Whether you're a cold therapy enthusiast or new to the practice, the real motivation behind it lies in the incredible benefits that exposure to cold offers, rather than the physical workout of lugging heavy bags of ice. Let's be honest - keeping up with the seemingly endless supply of ice required to maintain an ice bath can become a burdensome task. But fret no more! Our revolutionary chiller is here to effortlessly keep your ice bath cold, leading to more consistent and frequent usage. It's time to maximize the potential of your ice bath by transforming it into an iceless bath!

Unmatched Cooling Performance:

With the ability to reach temperatures as low as the low 40°F, and even dip into the high 30°F range under optimal conditions, our chiller ensures optimal cold therapy experiences. While your body heat is insignificant compared to external factors such as ambient temperatures and sun exposure, it's essential to reduce the heat load on your cold therapy tub. By effectively minimizing the external heat load, The Penguin Chiller significantly enhances its performance. Even under full sun or less-than-ideal conditions, you can expect reliable low to mid 40°F temperatures with this setup.

Surprisingly Affordable Operation:

Contrary to common expectations, operating the Penguin Chiller is more cost-effective than you might think. At an electricity rate of $0.12/KWh, the monthly cost of operation typically falls within the range of $15 to $25. Rest assured, the compressor and fan activate only when cooling is required. Once the water reaches your desired temperature, they automatically turn off, leaving only the low wattage pump running. This intelligent design ensures energy efficiency, keeping operational costs lower than anticipated.

Why Continuous Cooling Is Recommended:

One of the frequently asked questions revolves around setting the chiller up on a timer. However, the ideal approach is to keep the water cold at all times, and here's why:

  1. Bacterial Control: Cold water effectively slows down or stops the growth of bacteria, keeping slimy walls largely under control. This translates to reduced maintenance requirements, allowing you to keep your water clean for longer durations. Enjoy less frequent water changes and lower levels of sanitizer needed (such as chlorine or hydrogen peroxide) to maintain effective disinfection.

  2. Power Savings Considerations: If you're using the chiller regularly, the potential power savings during the "off" period are relatively insignificant. The heat gained during that period still needs to be removed when you turn the chiller back on. While you might save around $1 to $3 per month on energy costs, the increased frequency of water and filter changes offsets this minimal gain. In essence, it's unlikely to result in a net cost savings.

  3. Pump Longevity: Cutting power to the chiller also cuts power to the pump. Pumps undergo the most wear and tear during startup, making them more prone to failure. Cycling the power to the chiller unnecessarily adds wear and tear to the pump, reducing its lifespan. Therefore, maintaining continuous power supply to the chiller is recommended for optimal longevity.

Invest in the Penguin Chillers Cold Therapy Chiller & Insulated Tub to unlock the convenience of an iceless bath, ensuring consistent and effective cold therapy sessions. Not a lot of reviews so I thought I would leave one. I have had my chiller and tub for about a month. So far so good. Everything is as advertised. Very efficient. Seems to be good quality. If you want one that looks like a horse trough or something more fancy, have at it. I love this one. It is simple and very efficient/effective. I could not be happier. Exactly what I wanted.
